Had to do it

After hearing the phrase "war of civilizations" uttered twice within minutes by both Ed Koch and "political psychology expert" Stanley Renshon, the chills resurfaced. This is what the "war on terror" has come to? Is there no concern for the fact that Al Qaeda alone is in 80 countries? Now there's suddenly the conservative desire to turn this into an unwinnable global catastrophe?
Wasn't it Pat Buchanan who said (in 2001) that
"President Bush, however, seems instinctively aware such a war would be a disaster. For no matter how many deaths or defeats we inflict, we cannot kill Islam as we did Nazism, fascism, Japanese militarism and Soviet Bolshevism. Islam has survived for nearly 1,600 years; it is the predominant faith in 57 countries; it is indestructible." The fact that I find myself in an agreeable position with Pat-Freakin-Buchanan is not a consolation
