Bulgegate

The story that just wouldn't die, Wonkette provides an update and there's a whole blog devoted to the flap under Bush's suit. The question remains, how could he have performed so poorly if he was being fed answers? Well, debating is hard work!

Nanny nanny boo boo

Now the conservatives have begun to point out that Bush is the biggest nanny of them all, first Andrew Sullivan and now FOX news takes it further. You gotta love it when this administration is criticized for not being conservative enough!
There has always been a tension in conservatism between those who favor more liberty and those who want more morality. But what's indisputable is that Bush's "compassionate conservatism" is a move toward the latter — the use of the government to impose and subsidize certain morals over others. He is fusing Big Government liberalism with religious-right moralism. It's the nanny state with more cash. Your cash, that is. And their morals.

well duh...

Wha'd he say?

We're back on the upswing - the latest State of the Union had 12 mentions of "peace" and only one "evil". Though "war" beat it with 13. Parse it yourself!

Occupation in 20/20 hindsight

Did you oppose the war? How could you stand in the way of freedom on the march? It was all for the liberation of the people and their right to consume, not anything else that was ever used to justify this. Besides, it's all gonna be fine, you just have to trust in your (sorry, I mean our) government to know what's best.
