Nice Try

Reagan did what for Latin America?

I'm disappointed in Fareed Zakaria's glowing portrayal of Reagan's Latin America policies. Nicaragua, El Salvador and Guatemala would refrain from painting his endeavors in their region with such bright colors. Reagan's beloved Contras were most certainly not champions of human rights. The president also ordered the invasion of the tiny island nation of Grenada.

Mr. Zakaria's usual astuteness for considering conflicting histories seemed mysteriously absent from this article. To omit any mention of these misguided adventures is a negligent oversight at best and a shameful revision of recent history at worst.
